John and I were fortunate to obtain a four and a half month long house sit this year in Port Adelaide with Phoebe, a sweet cat and a lovely garden! I believe that long sits like this are a house sitters dream. It’s lovely to be in one place for a long time and to not have to pack and unpack the car. Not only that, we get to know the cat really well and I’m pretty sure she loves and trusts us, even though she will be really excited when her owners come home. She’s quite vocal and seems to have different kinds of miaows for different things she wants.
She likes to be patted while eating.
So, we’re about halfway through this assignment now and will be sorry to leave. It’s one of the best we’ve done so far. The owners have been wonderful and they did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We love the pictures they’ve been sending us of their overseas travel.
