We’ve moved from the Adelaide Hills where we cared for the friendliest most loving dog I’ve ever come across.  Now, we’re looking after an extremely shy cat.  He’s sweet and purrs whenever we pat him, but he doesn’t come to sit with us.

John and I have pet sat a lot of cats just this year, we had 2 in February, 4 in March/April (not all in the same house :-), then 3 in May/June and another one in July.  The younger ones adapt to change more quickly than the older ones, with a couple sitting on one of our laps during our “meet and greet” session.   The older cats usually take one to three days before they’re sitting right next to us or jumping on our laps or shoulders.

But, this little sweetie is taking much longer.   It’s been 6 days now and he still seems to prefer his own company.   I hope he ventures out soon, to enjoy our company.
